Pride Month: A Celebration of Grit, Growth, and Being Unapologetically You

Hey, Grit Family,

June is Pride Month, and this one feels extra special to me. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I’ve learned that grit isn’t just about getting through the tough times on the field or in the boardroom—it’s about showing up as your authentic self, every day, even when it’s hard.

Pride is a reminder that grit takes on many forms:
🏳️‍🌈 The grit to live authentically in a world that sometimes tells you not to.
🏳️‍🌈 The grit to stand tall when others might try to knock you down.
🏳️‍🌈 The grit to love yourself first, no matter who you love.

I’ve seen firsthand how this kind of grit changes lives. And let me tell you—sometimes, it starts with a simple question.

More times than I can count, people have looked me up and down and said, “Wait—you don’t look gay.” As if there’s a uniform, a hairstyle, or a badge I forgot to pick up. It’s frustrating, sure, but it’s also an opportunity: to remind myself—and them—that being part of the LGBTQ+ community isn’t about fitting into a mold. It’s about being exactly who I am, every single day.

This month, I challenge each of you to own your story. Celebrate what makes you different. Share your journey with pride. Because the world needs more voices that refuse to be silenced.

👉🏽 What’s your pride story? Drop it in the comments below or DM me—I want to celebrate every one of you who’s brave enough to live life on your terms.

Stay gritty, stay proud, and stay YOU
