Finding Your Balance: You’re Not Falling Apart. You’re Out of Alignment

Using the Wheel of Life to pinpoint exactly where your energy is leaking.

Ever feel like you’re doing “all the things” but still drowning?

You’re tired, so you sleep in on Sunday. Still wake up tired.
You’re overwhelmed, but you can’t point to one specific reason why.
You feel behind, stuck, scattered… maybe even a little disconnected from yourself.

And the default thought? (For me, anyway.)

“What’s wrong with me?”

But what if nothing is wrong with you?

What if you’re not falling apart…
you’re just out of alignment?

That invisible weight we talked about in the last post? It doesn’t come from one big life event. It comes from a bunch of small-ish things all happening at the same time.

That’s life. And sometimes, life can be dramatic. A little stress here. Some burnout there. Something in your relationships feels off. Your environment feels chaotic. Your goals are unclear. Individually, they don’t seem like much. But, together, they’re heavy enough to drain your energy, your focus, and your motivation.

You can’t fix what you can’t see.

That’s the problem. When everything feels messy, your brain doesn’t know where to start. Mental Overload happens and our brains just… freeze.

The good news, is that you have the power to take back control. It’s time to stop trying to fix everything at once. Because, seriously, it’s not possible. What we’re going to do, instead of wasting another weekend curled up in the fetal position on the sofa mentally overloaded, is use a simple tool to reclaim our clarity.

It’s called “The Wheel of Life”. You have probably heard of it, maybe even used it at some point. But don’t let the simplicity of the wheel of life fool you. It will show you exactly where your energy is leaking most. Whether you’re ready to see it or not.

The Wheel of Life

Think of your life like a wheel made up of different areas:

The wheel of life filled in with honest levels of where life is at on a scale of 1-10.
  1. Mental & Emotional Health: Your inner self. This is how you handle stress. Your self-talk, and whether your brain feels like a safe place to hang out.
  2. Relationships: The people math. Who fills your cup and who leaks it? This covers your inner circle, your partner, and whether your social battery is constantly being drained by “obligations.”
  3. Career / Purpose: Why do you get out of bed? Is your job fulfilling? Or is it just about the paycheck?
  4. Finances: This is about your security, your debt, and whether your bank account gives you options or keeps you trapped.
  5. Physical Health / Energy: If you’re constantly exhausted. Fueled entirely by caffeine and spite, this area needs a serious look.
  6. Personal Growth: The “leveling up” factor. Are you learning, evolving, and challenging yourself?
  7. Environment: Your physical surroundings. If your house is a disaster or your office feels like a cage, your brain can’t relax. Your space should support your life, not add to the clutter.
  8. Fun & Joy: This is more important than you think. If you don’t have hobbies, or moments that make you belly-laugh, you’re just a productivity robot. This is about what makes life actually worth living.

When one area is off, you feel it. When multiple areas are off? That’s when life starts to feel too heavy.

The Scoring Moment

Rate each area 1-10. Be honest. This is only for you. We’re not rating our lives based on what our IG looks like. This is not scored based on other people’s perception of you. It’s not based on what it should look like. Rate it as it actually is. How that category feels right now. In this moment.

And here’s the truth most people don’t want to admit: There’s at least 3 or 4 areas of life sitting at 2. I know mine were all at 2 or 3 the first time around. Guess what? It’s okay. Why? Because you are in the solution.

The Realization Shift

When too many areas are low, your brain goes into overload. Overload = Overwhelm = Stuck. So, now what do you do? Not everything. Not all the things at once. We’re not planning an entire life overhaul by Tuesday.

Pick one area. Yes, just one. (for now) The one that feels heaviest. One area that, if it improved even a little, would give you some breathing room. And you start there. Momentum will build. Life will start looking less messy. You might even start using Sunday to do something other than staying curled up on the sofa in the fetal position.

The Take Away

If you’re tired of feeling stuck but can’t figure out why… Start here. I have included a free pdf download of the Wheel of Life below.

So, download it. Print it. (or use it digitally) Map it out. Look at your life honestly, not critically. Then choose one place to begin. You don’t need to fix everything. You just need to stop ignoring what’s draining you.

And listen, You’re not broken. There’s nothing wrong with you. You’ve just been trying to function while everything is slightly out of sync.

Fix the alignment… and watch how different everything starts to feel.
